Great game tonight in the Mountain West. UNLV vs TCU (+8.5). A huge sandwich spot for UNLV. UNLV coming off its biggest win of the season vs. SDSU and next a trip to New Mexico in the Pit on Saturday, travels to TCU tonight. TCU is better than you think, 11-2 at home including 6 straight. Lets take the +8.5 tonight with the Frogs.

What a great weekend of Football, probably the best weekend of the NFL season. Lets take a closer look at the games.

Saturday has great story lines. Tim Tebow gets another chance to keep the magic going in New England and the Saints finally get a stiff test traveling to SF against a top ranked defense. All four games have the rematch angle to deal with including the SF/NO game that met in the pre-season which usually is not much of a note but it got personal for Jim Harbaugh who never forgets, just ask Pete Carroll. The Saints were relentless sacking SF 6 times in the first half. In rematch games usually the team that lost is a good bet. I made the spread in the SF/NO game a pick but since the Saints have looked unstoppable the spread has swelled up to +4, and i’ll gladly take the better defense and running game (you will hear this again). I also prefer the under in the game (un 47) as a better bet. I know it was pre-season but SF held the Saints scoreless in all three drives vs the first teams. In Saturday’s night cap i like the Pats big. The Broncos will attempt to slow the game down but Brady and the Pats will score plenty and the Broncos will not be able to keep up. The Tebow story was nice but it seems like he beat a bunch of teams at just the right time.

Sunday is also going to be great. The Texans really played the Ravens tough this season even without Andre Johnson. I like the better running game and better defense plus the points in the rematch. Give me the +7 point head start, possible upset special. GB and the Giants is going to be a great game. Another classic rematch. The GMEN are peaking at the right time and if any team is going to beat the Packers it is the Giants. Expect a high scoring game with Eli driving the Giants down for the late win. Once again, give me the better running game and defense plus the points.

At first glance SEC vs Big 12 is a mismatch but this season the Big 12 has been the best conference in the country. This Kansas State team has had some big wins, just as big as Arkansas. A common opponent is Texas AM, they both won by 4 points. KState’s Colin Klien is huge and will run the ball all night long. He is tough to bring down but the speed of Arkansas is the

perfect defense for it. I expect a high scoring game and the special teams will be the difference. Bill Snyder always has a great special teams. I am calling for the out right upset in this one. Watch out Razorbacks. KState gets it done in this one.

Tulsa vs BYU

One of my favorite bowl games of the year. There is an angel that over time has proved to be a good one. Teams having just played or going to play at Hawaii usually face a major motivational hangover. BYU faces probably the toughest test having finished the season in Hawaii then having to crank it up against a very good Tulsa team. GJ Kinnie has had a great career and expect a strong finish. Tulsa has flew under the radar all season having lost to only the top programs. The defense is very much improved, I favor the under in this one and really like Tulsa here.

Rutgers vs Iowa St

Rutgers has underachieved this season and Iowa St has in my opinion over achieved. Identifiny these types of situations is key during bowl season. Even though at first glance Rutgers is playing in NY a virtual home game, I am siding with the Cyclones. Paul Rhodes is a great young coach you know nothing about. Expect a big effort here from the Cyclones in a mini upset.

Boise St vs Arizona State

Class and motivation are the keys in tonight’s game. Boise is by and far the better team from top to bottom. Dont let the league confuse you the Pac 10 as  a whole was down and ASU was bad. Boise lost a tight game to TCU on a kick and probably are not totally motivated here but….this is Kellen Moore’s final game and the Seniors led by Billy Winn on the DL will want to make a statement heading into the draft. I see a total mismatch. Love Boise to crush and give me a little on the under. Boise in control from start to finish.

The is a bowl game tonight and we should make a play on it. Not much else going on TV tonight. I have gone back and forth on the side. Marshall has been a nice story and are a live dog. On the other hand the most explosive player on the field will be TY Hilton the speedy wide receiver for Florida International. I am not a fan of laying points here and expect a close game so……let make a play on the over. All three games that have been played inside on the turf where the Tampa Bay rays play have led to 3 overs in the past 3 games. All three games have scored a min of 55 points, tonight’s o/u is 48.5

The trap is set. The 49ers have been great all season. Arizona has been unstable but have won 3 games with John Skelton

running the show. Kevin Kolb is back and he somehow he found a way to beat the Cowboys last week. SF has bigger things on their mind than the Cardinals. The 49ers will be watching the Steelers on Thursday night football and looking ahead to that huge matchup next week. A soft spot for sure for a Niners team that is due for a bad week. Lets make a play on the Cardinals in this one + 4.

The Bengals are having a good season but…..the Steelers are still much better. The Steelers have had Cedric Benson’s number. The last 4 games against the

Steelers Benson is averaging under 50 yards per game. Also, the Bengals have had the easiest schedule so far this season.  Here it is, judge for yourself, in order……Cleveland, Denver, SF, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Indy, Seattle, Tennessee. Pitt is banged up but I still expect a Steelers win. Lets lay the -4.

There is a NFL game on Thursday night so lets make a play on it. SD is the better team but not by much. The Raiders have

looked awful but this seems to be perfect spot to make a play on them. The Chargers are playing their 3rd game in 11 days and have not looked good themselves giving up 40+ points last week. Just like in horse racing the 3rd game off the layoff should be Carson Palmer’s best performance. So lets take the generous 7 points in this one with the Raiders.
